Born in New West Minster B.C. on 10 January 1950, he enlisted in the RCAF in 1967 then subsequently in 1971 he attended a PERI TQ5 course in Borden after which he remustered to the PERI family. Due to his self motivation, course achievements and personal pride, he was voted as the "Most Improved Student" by his peers on the course and was awarded the Misener Memorial trophy. He served in C.F.B. Cornwallis, C.F.S. Ramore, C.F.B. Ottawa, C.F.S. Bermuda, C.F.B. Edmonton, C.F.S.P.E.R., C.F.B. Lahr and C.F.B. Chilliwack. In 1990 he was awarded the M.M.M. and retired from the Military in 1993. Joe was one of the founders of the recently rejuvenated (2006) Western PER Reunion and was the Administrator of our website www.theperiscope.ca.
