Born in Toronto, he was an RCR Pte when he attended his first PT Course in 1951 at Camp Borden. On successful completion of the course he was taken on strength of the PT Wing (RCS of I) as a staff instructor. In 1952 he attended the Advanced and Probation PT Course at the ASPT in Aldershot UK. An excellent instructor and all-around athlete he excelled in aquatics and basketball. After several postings he retired from Anderson Gym in CFB Kingston as an MWO and briefly owned a camp/resort on a lake in the Bath ON area. He later moved back to his hometown of Toronto.
