BARBEAU, Art. 1930 - 2006.

Born in Ottawa in 1930, Art attended Ottawa Technical HS, McGill (2nd yr Engineering) and earned a Certificate in Recreation Administration from Western. He served in the RCAF from 1948 to 1974, mainly as a RecO and retired as a Maj. Art was a member of the Cdn Jr Gymnastic Championship team in 1947, winner of the trombone solo at the Ottawa music festival in 1946 and was a member of many orchestras over the years and directed church choirs at many military churches during his career. Art was active in real estate, but his interests are varied and changed over the years in intensity since he continued to be very active in exercising and intellectual activities. He was very active in church choral work and learning how to get around on the web. He was writing a novel since one of his abilities throughout his life was a facility to express himself in writing. This contributed to his success during his 27 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and fifteen years in Real Estate. He was very actively pursuing the establishment of a PE&R memorial cairn in Trenton. Art passed away in Pierrefonds QC on 24 July 2006.
