The family wishes to announce Rod's passing in the early morning hours of Saturday June 3 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Burgeo Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Charles and Varina (Guy) Dominey. He was keenly interested in sports throughout his entire life, having played football, hockey and golf from a young age. He carried this love of sports into his career in the Royal Canadian Air Force, working as a Physical Education and Recreation Instructor. In this capacity, he was stationed in many areas throughout the country. Following retirement from the military, he pursued a civilian career as Equipment Manager at the gymnasium at HMCS Stadacona in Halifax, retiring at age 65 in 2001. He and his wife Marcella established many close friendships throughout their travels, and have maintained these in the years since.
