Having served in several locations including North Bay and Uplands, Jack's promotion to Major got him posted to NDHQ/DPERA, then subsequently to the Directorate of Foreign Liaison (DFL) where he served (on secondment) for five years. He then retired from the Regular Force and transferred to the Reserves where he continued to serve in DFL until he finally "retired" altogether to civvie street in the Ottawa area.
