NEW POST - 19 March 2018

I apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this may cause, but due to a conflict with D Day and other related memorials and reunions the week of June 9, I am re-scheduling the Celebration of Life for my father to Saturday June 23rd, at 11:00 AM so that members of PPCLI and other colleagues and friends who were so important to my Dad can make it. This will take place at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo B.C. (enter the parking lot off Townsite Road, which runs behind the building). There will be a reception on site following the service. The Nanaimo Legion is a few doors down at 1630 Wellington Road and guests are invited to raise a glass to Ed there afterward.

As previously noted, in lieu of flowers, if you are so inclined, donations to Honor House Society, would be appreciated. Their website is at https://honourhouse.ca.

As before, please share this update with anyone who I didn't include in this email.  Thank you so much and again I apologize for the inconvenience.

If anyone has any questions or wants to reach me, my cell phone is 604-379-6253.

Sheila Sullivan

(Ed’s Daughter)

Unfortunately Ed passed away last night (08 Mar 2018) in hospital after a progressively difficult struggle with COPD.  He died peacefully which I am happy about after all his suffering in the last few months. He was a proud member of the Canadian Army and even after all these years retired, still thinks of himself as PPCLI, a paratrooper and a PTI.  He really treasured the camaraderie and friendship of each and every one of you and talked of you all often and all the adventures and shenanigans he, and you, got into over the years. He had a good long life and was surprised to make it to 82!

The Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 9th, at 11:00 a.m. at First Memorial Funeral Home, 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo B.C. (enter the parking lot off Townsite Road, which runs behind the building). There will be a reception on site following the service. The Nanaimo Legion is a few doors down at 1630 Wellington Road and guests are invited to raise a glass to Ed there afterward.

In lieu of flowers, if you are so inclined, donations to Honor House Society, would be appreciated. Honour House Society provides a “home away from home” for members of our Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, Emergency Services Personnel and their families to stay, completely free of charge, while receiving medical care/treatment in Metro Vancouver.  Their website is at https://honourhouse.ca.

If anyone has any stories about Ed they would like to share with his five children, or photographs of him, you are welcome to forward them to me at this email address: sheilas1524@gmail.com .

If anyone has any questions or wants to reach me, my cell phone is 604-379-6253.
