Schooled in Manitoba, George graduated from UBC in 1954. Postings included Claresholm, Headquarters, #1 Air Division in Metz, France, Decimemano, Sardinia, Headquarters, UNEF 1 in El Arish, Sinai, RCAF Station North Bay as SRecO, promoted to Major then posted to CFB Borden as Comdt of CFSPER,then to NDHQ as DPERA..........and promoted to LCOL..   He then attended (first Phys Ed officer to do so) National Defence College, returning to DPERA.   After he left DPERA, he became the Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Gloucester. He retired from that position after ten years and moved to Penetang where he died in 1990.
