Lloyd was member of the PPCLI who, in the eary 1950s, was extra-regimentally employed as the PT Wing CO of the RCS of I. He attended the British Army PT Corps Advanced Course with Jack Savage and Ken MacDonald in 1952. Shortly after returning to Canada, Lloyd returned to regimental duty with the PPCLI as a Company Commander and eventually retired as a Major to work  as a stock broker. He resided in Tsawwassen BC and after several severe medical problems, Lloyd succumbed to a massive heart attack on 21 Jan 2008.
