Gus joined the army in 1959 following high school graduation in the small town of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.  An all around good athlete, skilled sportsman and naturally gifted instructor, it was fitting that he chose to be a PTI. Gus served at more than half a dozen units in Alberta, Ontario, Nova Scotia and Labrador.  The 70's were good to him, rising from Corporal, through Sergeant, to Warrant Officer, in six years.  He was subsequently awarded the MMM in 1984. Gus Paris was one of the most admired, all around personalities to represent the PERI trade.  He is interred in North Bay, Ontario.
