SCHILDS, Ron 1934-2015.

Born August 23,1934 in Dawson Creek the oldest of eleven children where he played minor hockey in the 40’s with his two brothers, Doug and Fran. After trying a few jobs after high school he left Dawson Creek to a career of 35 years with the Canadian Air Force. Ron was an avid sports lover.  In his military days, it was hockey, running or walking the trails in Germany or lunch hour time playing squash. In Lahr, you could hear him on the radio as a radio broadcaster for many a hockey game. Ron and Betty and children traveled to many a base in Canada and there were two postings to Germany. One of his favorite postings was to Moose Jaw where he trained to fly Snowbirds.

Ron always kept up with his favorite sports teams and many a weekend you could find him watching football, hockey and golf. Ron loved to play bridge or play crib with friends. He loved to dance and spend time with friends. He also loved to sing and joined a number of choirs.
