Born in Vancouver BC, Ron joined the Merchant Navy in 1951 then moved to the RCN where he served 23 years on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts; part of this time he served as a P and RT Officer. After retirement he worked with the EMO of NS and retired as the director. In the early 1990's he returned to Victoria and did extensive work with Scouts and St John's Ambulance, for which he was awarded Knight by the Governor-General. Ron was an active participant in the Bosn's breakfast group in Victoria before his illness precluded his attendance. He passed away in the Royal Jubilee Hospital on 20 Dec 2006.
