NORMAN, Roger 1948 - 2013.

Born in Weyburn, SK on 9 Nov 1948, Roger joined the military in 1966 and after basic training he was posted to Rivers MB. Then, while serving as a Rad Tech in CFB Shearwater (1970-1973) he met and married Diane his wife of 40 years. It was also during this period that he remustered to PERI 851. He enjoyed parachuting on the week-ends. In 1973 and was posted to CFB Gagetown NB where he picked up his JLC Course, then in 1977 he was moved to Penhold AB where liked to work in Spruce Meadows (an equestrian facility in Calgary) setting up jumps. While here he left for Borden to complete his PERI 5A Course. In 1981 he was posted to CFB Kingston where he served until 1983 at which time he was posted to CFS Beaverlodge and promoted to Sgt. While in Beaverlodge he was a member of the Search and Rescue team and enjoyed a lot of camping and skiing. 1988 found him in CFB Calgary where he worked at Spruce Meadows and also developed a talent for small wood-working projects. He served in Calgary until 1992 when he took his release. After his release he worked for 16 years at Totem Building Supplies retiring from there in 2008. In Kingston, NS he volunteered at the Western Kings Arena and with the Upper Room Food Bank. He loved woodworking, running and hockey. His internment service was held in Middleton NS on 18 May 2013.

We served in Gagetown together in 1970ies.!
