WISCOMBE, Sam 1946 - 2010

PO2 Samuel Andrew Wiscombe, CD (retd) 64 of Conquerall Mills, Lunenburg Co., passed away suddenly at home on Sunday 18 April 2010. Born in Marystown NL, he was the son of the late Herbert and Susan (Hooper) Wiscombe. Sam served his country for 27 years with the Royal Canadian Navy, first as a Radar Plotter and Ships Diver and then as a Physical fitness instructor. He served in many places including on board Canada’s last Aircraft Carrier the HMCS Bonaventure. After his retirement from the navy he drove school bus for the South Shore Regional School Board for 17 years. Sam was a loving and caring husband and an exceptional father; he enjoyed all sports, both playing and watching, and was also a great cook. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Bridgewater Branch No. 24 and a founding member of Osprey Ridge Golf Course. Sam enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved the outdoors. He was involved in the Scouting movement and coached little league baseball for many years.

Sam was a collector of many treasures and will be remembered for his being true and faithful friend to many throughout Canada.
