SNEATH, Rob 1965 - 2017.

Rob passed away after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family when his death occurred at the Dartmouth General Hospital, Dartmouth, NS, on Mon 27th Nov. He was 52 years old.. Enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1984 as a Bos'n, he remustered to PERI in 1987 and then to Aircraft Structures Technician in 1997 when the PERI Trade stood down. Rob retired in 2007 after almost 24 years of loyal and dedicated service. He was an outstanding person, father, serviceman, athlete, coach and leader. His achievement in many Canadian Forces Sports was nothing short of exceptional. Whether it was hockey, ball hockey, golf, soccer or softball, he excelled in all of them. His name is synonymous with Canadian Forces Hockey. His reputation as a top hockey player for more than 20 years is legendary. He was recently inducted into the Canadian Forces Sports Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Ottawa (Oct 2017) for outstanding achievement in Hockey; an emotional and cherished moment for him. In the past he played for the NHL Legends All Star Hockey Team. He also had the honor to be invited to attend training camp for the Philadelphia Flyers in 1992, as well as being invited to the Canadian National Hockey team tryouts in 1995. Rob was an outstanding PERI and served at several Canadian Forces Bases across Canada. He was a passionate, quiet and unassuming leader who was always there ready and willing to help. He was a very active coach and offered instructional hockey clinics to many CAF members and their families. He was employed since 2008, to the time of his death, as Corporate Services Sales Manager at CFB Halifax Personnel Support Programs. We will all grieve for the passing of a wonderful person, but we will grieve also for the tremendous loss that his family is suffering by keeping them in our prayers.
