Wally joined the CF in 1952, where he served with the Black Watch RHR of Canada. In 1954 he transferred to the PT Cadre after completion of all the necessary training. He served in Gagetown with the 2Bn Black Watch and RHC Depot, in Germany at Hanover, Soest and Iserlohn, as well as Petawawa, RMC, Cornwallis, Cold Lake, Edmonton, Halifax, and CFSPER, where he retired as the SCWO. One year after retirement, he became the Recreation Facilities Director for the NS Department of Education, and remained in that position until 2002. Wally was a great leader, teacher, mentor, coach and a true gentleman.
