Sandy enlisted in the RCAF in 1940 and qualified as a PT&DI, spending a lot of time in manning depots. By 1945 he was a WO2 in the PT&DI trade and served overseas. In 1946 he reverted to LAC and remustered as a Safety Equipment Technician. He returned to the PT&DI trade in 1947. One of the original members of Rec Spec Branch in 1952, Sandy served in Seneterre; Comox; Lachine; Halifax; Trenton and Cold Lake. He retired from CFSPER in 1973 as an MWO. Sandy passed away at the Toronto General Hospital after complications during surgery on 13 Jan 2010. He and his Dad were in the military at the same time. See Billy Adkins Obit.
