FENTON, George 1929-2012

A Korean veteran, he and his platoon buddy Glen Matthews both eventually re-mustered to the RecSpec trade. George served as a Rec Spec in Borden, Calgary, St.Jean, Claresholm, Moisie, Comox, Langar-England, Metz-France, Beausejour, Shilo and Edmonton. A top flight PT Instructor, when on the PT Platform, he was the image of fitness.  An ex-boxer, he had a well-muscled upper body but narrow hips and medium legs.  He had that tapered look from head to toe.  George had a great sense of humor, especially during coffee breaks.  Unfortunately he smoked like a chimney and died of lung cancer.  He was very helpful to new Rec Specs learning how to command and control large (100's) of recruits on the gym floor at one time.
