William Murdock McLellan CWO (Ret'd), known affectionately as Bill, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, in Ottawa, Ontario, at the age of 79.



Born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia he was a son of the late Ronald and Florence (née MacRae) MacLellan.



Left to celebrate his legacy is his beloved wife of 54 years, Susan (née Gagne); daughter Kendra, sons Scott and Mark (Melissa) and his grandchildren Carter and Alexa. He is survived by sisters Margaret Sheppard (Frank deceased), Mary Desveaux (John deceased), Ann Gardiner (Malcolm deceased), Joan MacLean (Ron deceased); brothers Martin (Helen) and Jack (Tiantian). He was dearly loved ad cherished by many nieces and nephews.



Bill was predeceased by his parents, brothers Daniel R.D. McLellan, Neil Joseph MacLellan and Peter Archie McLellan.



Bill had a distinguished military career, dedicating 32 years of his life beginning in the infantry and before moving into what he considered his calling, as a PERI. He was respected for his unwavering commitment and leadership throughout his career. The discipline and structure of military life suited him. Bill's life was marked by his headstrong approach to challenges, always meeting them with a smile and a joke, much to the delight of those around him.



Bill was an avid sports enthusiast and an exceptional athlete. He enjoyed a variety of activities including fishing, golf, softball, soccer, darts, and bingo, which kept him active and engaged with his friends and community throughout his life.
