Hello everyone,
It is with sadness that I am passing along the obituary information I found in today's newspaper, The Times Colonist in Victoria, BC. This is what the obituary says:
"Harrison, Derek

He is predeceased by his wife and love of his life, Eileen, son, Ian; parents Harry and Vera; brothers Harry and Terry; and his uncle, Alfred. He is survived by his daughters Lynne and Kim; son Steven; grandchildren Lori, Jeff, Adrienne, Amy, Kade, and Evann; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Gail (Stuart) Mason; family members in both the UK and Toronto, Ontario; as well as many dear friends, especially Ray and Margaret, that were family to him.
If so desired, donations may be made in Derek's memory to the BC Lung Association.
No service by request.

Unfortunately we had not seen Derek for quite a while, as he chose to stop attending the PTI lunches. We used to run into him at Tim Horton's on Goldstream Ave. once in a blue moon, but not for some time now. We always enjoyed talking to Derek, hearing his laugh, his lovely accent and seeing the happy fellow he was. He also stopped picking up his phone at home, so messages were left regarding the dates of our lunches and to say hello. We hoped to hear back from him, but we haven't spoken to him for several months and had no contact as he didn't use email either. It is very unfortunate, but sometimes that's the way people prefer it. We did not know his family at all either. If any of you know his family, please let us know, or tell them we have been thinking of him and wondered how he was doing. Also, our condolences to his family and close friends.
We will keep him in our prayers and God bless him.
Jeanno and Shannon Boivin
