Hello fellow former PERIs/PEROs :

Born in Germany, I came to Canada in 1953 and grew up in Oakville On. After graduating high school, I joined the CF in Oct 69 as an Airframe Tech and did my basic training in Cornwallis. Afterwards, basic AF 512 Tech course in Borden and later TQ5A, 1973 in Ottawa. I was posted to Uplands from 70-75 and then Shearwater till my remuster to PERI in 1977. Did my Unit PT in 77 and my TQ5A-7801 in Borden. Back to Shearwater as a PERI till 1981. Continuous French course (6 mo) in Halifax and (6 mo) in St-Jean in 1981, then posted back again to St-Jean in 1982. UN peacekeeping Camp Ziouani in Golan Heights 1983/84 as Snr PERI, 2i/c Welfare, and then CMR St-Jean from 84-90. Completed my TQ6B-8701in Borden. Was posted to Lahr Germany in 1990 till closure in 94. Posted to St-Hubert as Snr PERI from 1994 to FRP and trade closure in Apr 97. Worked with PSP as the Sports Facility Coord at Longue-Pointe Garrison from 97 to early retirement in 2012. All together, over 43 years of service with and for the CF military community.

I was an excellent X-Country runner in high school and held the CF record for the fastest 1.5 mi run (07:40m) for many years. My favourite sports were broomball, soccer, basketball and tennis. I competed in many CF Regional and National Championships, and even Provincials, Canadian Championships and a World Championship with both military and civilian teams. Coached Varsity basketball and soccer at CMR and coached a civilian championship mens soccer team in St-Jean. Also reffed soccer and broomball.

Now live in Longueuil Qc and spend most of my time in the Eastern Townships and Bedford. Love to hike, snowshoe, and kayak. Hobbies are music, poker, and Facebook.
